Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018) and Madonna collaborated on Medellin together with Maluma (2019). A few performers of reggaeton have criticized the shift to popular music by 2020. A newly formed group called Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the growth and evolution of reggaeton. He often incorporated elements from electronic dance music as well as other styles.
