Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain was born March 24 1977. She is an American actress, producer and model. Most famous for her roles in films that have feminist themes, she has won numerous awards such as an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 people on the planet in 2012. Chastain started acting in her early years. In 1998 she made her professional debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending acting classes at Juilliard School, she was given a talent deal with John Wells. She was regular guest on various television shows, and was also a part of many stage productions. Following her film debut at the age of 31 with the drama Jolene (2008), Chastain was able to make her mark in 2011 with six film projects that included the dramas Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2011). For her roles as an aspirant socialite and CIA analyst, she earned Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science-fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) had more success commercially. Chastain's strong-willed roles in the dramas The Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were also praised. She later played Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress as well as Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on mental health issues, as also gender and racial equality.
